Development Network

Last Modified: Jan. 2, 2009

Investing in Our Employees

At U.S. Bank, our greatest asset is you, our employees. The Development Network provides an opportunity for you to learn, grow, meet others and participate in community events. It is comprised of geographically-based chapters organized by and for all employees.

The Development Network brings U.S. Bank employees together to discover and discuss common issues. Employees interact with colleagues from other areas and all levels of the company.

The Development Network Mission Statement

"Promote the personal and professional development of U.S. Bank employees by encouraging and capitalizing on their diversity."

All employees are welcome to participate in Development Network activities including full-time, part-time, hourly, exempt, and non-exempt employees. Participation is voluntary and meetings and activities are generally held during non-working hours.

Events include personal and professional development, networking, and community involvement programs.

Enriching Events

Speakers from around the company, including senior executives, as well as outside professional presenters, provide valuable and timely information at Development Network events. Each chapter has a board that plans the meeting topics based on suggestions from employees. Board members are elected annually.

The event objectives are to:

  • foster employee empowerment for career growth;
  • encourage and capitalize on the diversity of employees;
  • enhance leadership, management and communication skills;
  • develop professional contacts throughout the company;
  • increase understanding of the needs and priorities of our diverse customer base; and
  • provide opportunities for involvement in community events.

Examples of Development Network Events

  • Basic leadership skills
  • Understanding your 401(k)
  • Career and volunteer fairs
  • Junior Achievement
  • Special Olympics
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Building your career and promoting yourself at U.S. Bank

A Chapter Near You

If you would like to experience the Development Network firsthand to see all that it offers, take a look at the list of chapters and attend your chapter’s next event.

We are continually introducing new chapters, so if you do not see a chapter near you, check back frequently or consider becoming a chapter president and request to roll out a new chapter.
